The Garden was initially opened by the french governor over 300 years ago.

On the other, Charamel falls is located at St. Denis River. There are three distinct streams of water pouring down from a height of 272 feet into a gorge.

La Vanille Nature Park

The La VAnille Nature Park is located in a southern villahge called Riviere des Anguilles in Mauritius. This park host species such as the Nile crocodile, Alligators, Giant tortoise etc. La vanille Nature park also has the largest giant Tortoise center of reproduction in the world with more than 500 tortoise of allages.

Other things you find here are Aquarium, tortoise museum, ammonite fossils museum from marine mammals.

Trou aux Cerfs

Ile aux Aigrettes

This is a small coral island that is 800 metres off the southeastern coast of mauritius. This island is been preserved by the Mauritian wildlife foundation (MWF) following its declaration as a nature conservation site in 1965. Ile aux Aigerettes is about 27 hectares in area and largest islet in the Grand Port bay, Mauritius.

The Mauritian Wildlife Foundation (MWF) has put tremendous efforts in this coral island, to get rid of exotic species and let the original forest recover. A few of the world’s rarest birds, including the kestrel, rare Pink Pigeon, the Green Gecko Phelsuma and the Aldabra giant tortoise can be seen here. Other species such as birds and the giant tortoise have also been re-introduced. Thus Ile aux Aigrettes has become a beautiful ecological spot that is worth discovering.
