1. Schengen Visa (Type C)
A Schengen Visa is a visa type for countries within the Schengen Member states. This type of visa must be applied in person by the applicant at the Country Embassy. This means that as an applicant, you must go to the Norwegian Embassy in Nigeria to Apply for the Visa. The Type C visa also known as a Short term stay which only has a duration of 90 days. Nigeria to Norway Visa Process and Requirements: Type C Visa
Nigeria to Norway Visa Process is very simple and straight forward. Just follow this steps below;
Application Online . Follow the link to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) to start the Visa application.
There are documents required to apply for this type of Visa which are list below;
- You can obtain a direct application from here. This must be duly filled and signed
- original International Passport of not less than 6 months validity
- Passport size photo with a white background: 45mm x 35mm
- Photocopies of all documents including the international Passport
- Itinerary: Round trip tickets and itinerary
- Schengen Medical travel Insurance
- Hotel reservations
- Bank statement
- Employment letter/School Letter with letter head: This is to proof that you have been given a leave and therefore you will be returning.

Please visit the VFS Application Centre to submit your Schengen visa application. You must bring all the required documents in original.
In addition, you must bring one set of clear photocopies of all your documents, including a copy of your personal bank statement. It is very important that your photocopied set of documents is not stapled, bound, glued or with paper clips. This is because they will scan all documents
After Submission, What’s Next?
Normally, the embassy gives a decision within 15 days. Note that this calculation is started from the day your documents arrive at the Norwegian embassy in Ghana and NOT from the day you applied online. This means it is advisable to apply for the Visa at most 3 weeks before your scheduled date. Make sure you provide all necessary documents to make things faster and easy.
If however there is a complication on your application to whether it should be approved of rejected, it will be directed to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI). This normally takes wothin 30 days to be processed.

Track your application online by providing the unique VAC Reference Number and your last name. VAC reference number can be found on the Invoice-Cum-Receipt provided by the Submission Officer at the Visa Application Center at the time of submission.
